Privacy policy

Radian Business Intelligence Pty Ltd. Version 1.2, approved 28 September 2026. Replaces version 1.1 of 25 September 2026 (product name change only: Radian Practice is now Radian Legal).

1. Introduction

This policy explains how Radian Business Intelligence Pty Ltd collects, uses, discloses and protects personal information. It covers our clients, our employees and other people whose information we hold.

We follow the Australian Privacy Principles in how we handle personal information.

2. Collection of personal information

We collect the personal information we need to run our business and provide services to our clients. This can include:

• contact details (name, address, email, phone number)
• financial details (payment details, billing records)
• employment details for employees and contractors
• other information related to the services we provide.

We collect personal information from the person it's about, or from a third party authorised to give it to us.

We don't collect sensitive information, such as health information or criminal records, unless we need it and the person consents, or the law permits it.

3. Use and disclosure

We use personal information to:

• provide services to our clients
• contact people and answer their enquiries
• run our business, including invoicing and billing
• meet our legal and regulatory obligations
• do other things the person has agreed to.

We may disclose personal information to service providers and contractors who help us run our business. We may also disclose it where a law or a court order requires it, or where the person has agreed.

We take reasonable steps to make sure these third parties protect the information to the standard the Australian Privacy Principles require.

4. Data security

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference and loss, and from unauthorised access, change or disclosure. Our measures include:

• access controls and authentication
• encryption of data in transit and at rest
• security reviews of our systems and hosting
• privacy and security obligations in our contractor agreements.

5. How we hold information

We hold personal information in Microsoft 365, which we use for email and documents, and in Microsoft Azure.

Our software for law firms runs in Microsoft Azure regions in Australia, with a separate database for each firm.

Microsoft is based in the United States, and its staff may access information from outside Australia to provide support. We don't use other overseas suppliers and don't otherwise send personal information overseas.

6. Information we hold for law firms

Radian Legal, Radian AML and Radian Finance Desk hold information on behalf of the law firms that use them. This includes information about the firm's clients and matters.

The firm decides what is collected and why, and the firm's own privacy policy applies to it. We access it to support and maintain the software.

7. Retention and disposal

We keep personal information while we need it for the purpose we collected it, or for longer if the law requires it.

When we no longer need it, we destroy it securely or de-identify it.

8. Your rights

You can ask to see, correct or update the personal information we hold about you. Some exceptions apply under privacy law.

9. Complaints and enquiries

If you have a concern or complaint about how we handle your personal information, contact our Privacy Officer:

We look into each complaint or enquiry and reply to you in writing within 30 days.

If you're not satisfied with our reply, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when our practices or the law change. The current version is published on this page.
